Free tax help at Asotin County Library from the AARP Tax-Aide Program

Federal and State income taxes are prepared and e-filed free by the AARP Tax-Aide Program. This service is for middle to low income taxpayers with special attention to those 60 or over. No appointment is necessary.

current year's tax forms and preparation booklet
copy of last year's income tax return(s)
W-2 forms from each employer
unemployment compensation statements
SSA-1099 form if you were paid Social Security benefits
all 1099 forms showing interest and/or dividends and documentation
1099-misc. showing any miscellaneous income
199-R form if you received a pension or annuity
all forms indicating federal income tax paid
dependent care provider information (name, employer, ID, social Security number)
all receipts or canceled checks if itemizing deductions
Social Security cards or other official documentation for yourself and all dependents
document showing real estate taxes paid even if not itemizing
documents showing purchase price and sales tax on a new car purchase after February 16, 2009
copy of signed closing statement document for 1st-time homebuyer or a long-time resident of same main home
