Internet Speed Tests for Parkway Neighborhood

We are looking to connect with people who live in the Parkway Elementary School area.

Why? Asotin County could be eligible for federal funding for broadband infrastructure in this particular service area. Speed tests can help show the area is underserved (receive less than 100/20 bps). 

How You Can Help! Take 1 speed test on each of 3 separate days from your home computer. Asotin County Library Digital Navigators will visit your home in the evening on select days to run the short speed test on your computer.

Schedule an Appointment for a Home Visit! Please contact Erin Kolb, adult services librarian, at 509-758-5454 or email to schedule a visit. Digital Navigators are available for a home visit between 6 and 8pm on May 6, 7, 8 9, 13 and 14.

Prefer to Take a Test On Your Own? 

  1. Access the Washington State Department of Commerce's portal at https://wa.broadbandnavigator.com/
  2. Enter your address into the map and choose your service location, then select "choose Report Service Issue"
  3. You can help correct the map if it shows your service address can access high-speed internet, but it isn't available to you.

The Asotin County Library is working with the Asotin County Broadband Action Team (BAT). BAT was formed in order to identify areas of our communities impacted by the digital divide and to address the factors causing that divide. They seek to ensure access to affordable, high-speed internet for all Asotin County residents and businesses, regardless of location and ability to pay. Building the infrastructure to enable this is a major focus of the BAT. Once infrastructure is in place, Asotin County will be closer to achieving digital equity for all residents. Asotin County BAT members work together to address all aspects of digital inclusion – affordable broadband, devices, and skills.
